Grow your wealth with an innovative, data-driven trading concept
At MID Capital, we focus on stable, sustainable growth through data. We know the temptations and pitfalls of emotion-driven trading and our unique model is designed to avoid them. With proven strategies and strict risk management, we build a reliable foundation for your wealth, regardless of market fluctuations.
The story behind MID Capital
MID Capital was founded by Neeltje Tuynman, Reinier van Straaten and Bram van der Linden. What brought them together is their shared passion for the financial markets, but each with a unique approach. Bram traded intuitively and based on technical patterns. While Reinier focused on a data-driven, analytical approach. Their complementary expertise in finance, sales and data analysis forms the perfect basis for a strong partnership.
The foundation of MID Capital lies in the advanced model that Reinier developed over more than seven years. It goes far beyond superficial data trends; the model is based on in-depth statistical analysis and complex econometric calculation methods, designed to exclude emotions and speculative decisions entirely. The long-term focus allows them to use temporary market movements as opportunities rather than threats. This is part of the strategy behind the model, which is designed to deliver consistency over the years, even in volatile markets. Currently focused on the S&P 500, the model is scalable to other asset classes, such as commodities and indices, offering further opportunities for automation and growth.

2014
Reinier began developing a data-driven model. He experimented with small amounts of his own capital and performed hundreds of backtests. He aimed to create a system that performed consistently without subjective interpretations: a robust and fully automated system that delivers reliable results free from human error.

2015 – 2021
While working as a senior analyst, Reinier continued to develop and optimize the model, using over 43 years of historical data and running extensive experiments, optimizations, numerous backtests, and around 1.5 million Monte Carlo simulations.

2020
Reinier met Bram, who was initially skeptical about a purely data-driven approach. However, after in-depth discussions and countless backtests, free from subjective biases, Bram was ultimately convinced of the model’s power; it provided the stability he lacked in other, intuitive approaches.

2021
With Bram’s critical eye and Reinier’s precision, they would only continue with a fully proven strategy, so an independent agency was hired to validate the model. External experts confirmed the model as reliable, demonstrating performance in line with the original backtests and delivering consistent results. They began actively trading together.

January 2022
Neeltje, Bram, and Reinier formalized MID Capital as a private company and invested their own capital. Their initial plan was to trade solely for themselves, but the power and impressive performance of their unique model quickly caught the attention of their network. While experimenting with different trading strategies, including techniques from Bram’s day-trading experience, they made an important discovery: the model performs best without human intervention. The less they interfered, the better the results. They learned to let go and let the model do its job.

2022
The strength and stability of the unique model did not go unnoticed. With their own capital as the first investment and growing interest from their network, they decided to formalize MID Capital. They continued refining their strategies and validating their model, preparing for live trading under controlled conditions.

January 2023
The official start of live trading according to the validated model marked a significant milestone. This began their official track record, providing the foundation for future growth and credibility.

2023
In the summer, Mid Capital was registered with the Dutch Authority for the Financial Markets (AFM), after which they officially started working with external investors in October. Thanks to their data-driven foundation, they can fully focus on sustainable growth and achieving stable returns for their participants.

2024
Today, Bram and Reinier are working on further automating their model, resulting in a fully automated trading process without human intervention. They see great potential in expanding into other markets and asset classes to further realize the long-term vision of sustainable growth and establish a strong track record.
Our ambition
Our goal is to beat the market. To achieve this, we take controlled risks. We trade futures (a leveraged product) daily based on a consistent, data-driven model. Our extensive backtests demonstrate that this approach is profitable, with a strong balance between gains and losses. At the same time, the backtests show that periods of negative returns are inherently part of our trading strategy. Timing is key for new entrants; over time, the gains far outweigh the losses.
Our core values
We believe that investing goes beyond quick profits: it is about sustainable, stable growth. With a model built on years of trading data, our strategy is focused on the long term, resilient to the market’s daily noise.
Transparency
We are fully transparent about both opportunities and risks; every participant is always well-informed and updated on developments.
Discipline
Our approach is centered on patience and consistency: we follow a strict plan, independent of market volatility.
Integrity
We do not take unnecessary risks and manage your capital as if it were our own. That’s why we also invest in the fund ourselves, sharing the same interests as our participants.
Flexibility
While we focus on long-term gains, we understand how important it can be to maintain control over your investment, which is why intermediate entry and exit are possible.
Security
We never take on more risk than a small percentage of our capital. If a position hits our stop-loss level, we stop; no exceptions.
What makes our model unique:
- It precisely determines the direction of the trade, position size, and stop-loss level.
- Positions are never held overnight, keeping risks strictly manageable.
- The system is continuously optimized and is fully scalable, with plans to expand into other markets and asset classes.

Meet the team behind MID Capital
Bram van der Linden
With over 20 years of experience in commercial and strategic roles, Bram van der Linden has made his mark at companies such as Canon and Samsung, managing major accounts like Rabobank. Specializing in business development, he possesses in-depth knowledge of various markets. His academic background includes a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Economics, and Finance from Haarlem Business School.
“As a trader, you’re used to constantly watching the market and intervening. This model forces you to let go of that control and trust the data: that’s the peace of mind I want to bring to our participants.”
Despite his successful commercial career, his interest in financial markets remained strong. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he fully immersed himself in day trading on the New York Stock Exchange. This success led to his collaboration with Reinier, where he discovered an entirely new approach to investing: a data-driven strategy free from gut feelings. Bram believes that to beat the market, it’s essential to accept periods of setbacks; otherwise, you can never outperform the market. He now manages the commercial side of MID Capital, maintaining personal contact with participants, with a strong focus on honest and transparent communication. His dedication and integrity make him the ideal link.

Reinier van Straaten
Reinier van Straaten brings over 15 years of experience in financial analysis, investments, and real estate management. After years as a senior financial analyst at Syntrus Achmea, where he was responsible for complex financial analyses and risk management, Reinier discovered his passion for derivatives trading. After managing real estate, he decided to fully focus on developing an advanced model.
” You just have to start. Through trial and error and continuous adjustments, we have been able to further optimize the model.”
Reinier is the analytical mind behind MID Capital’s data-driven strategy. His goal was to create a consistent trading strategy that could withstand market fluctuations. The model’s complexity leads to a simple approach: it determines the trade direction, position size, and stop-loss level and ensures positions are never held overnight. His precision and discipline make him a crucial pillar of MID Capital, where he continues to focus on further automating and refining the model to ensure long-term stability for investors.
